The announcement of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut will finally see the light of day next year in 2021 on HBO Max streaming services. That is not even the best news. The best news will be the Snyder Cut is going to be a finished product when it is released next year in 2021. Hollywood Reporter is reporting Warner Brother’s will be putting in million of dollars to complete the post production work. It is unclear yet if the amount of money will be 20 to 30 million to complete the finish film That means Junkie XL will be back as the original movie score, original post production crew to cut and finish the visual effects. This part of the news for me was the biggest fuck yeah!
From what we learn from Hollywood Reporter’s interview with the Snyder’s is that talks have been going on with Warner Brothers since November. This was around the time when the entire cast minus Henry Cavill was voicing to release the Snyder Cut on social media.
” The morning after, was their agent saying that Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures, was acknowledging the movement, and more importantly, was willing to accede. “This is real. People out there want it. Would you guys ever consider doing something?” was what Emmerich was asking, Zack Snyder recalls” – Zack Snyder.
” The answer to Emmerich’s question, a whispered-about secret for months, was revealed Wednesday when Snyder confirmed, at the end of an online screening of his 2013 movie, Man of Steel, that his version of Justice League was indeed real” – Zack Snyder.
“It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie,” Snyder tells The Hollywood Reporter, noting that, to this day, he has not watched the version released in theaters.”
The last quote I read from the Hollywood Reporter’s interview with the Snyder’s is that their version of Justice League will be a entirely new thing. Including those who have seen the unfinished cut will be surprised with the final finished version. Obviously before the interview it’s been reported only 25% of his version is in the Justice League theatrical cut. I am curious if Zack Snyder will have the opportunity to add some new scenes like more Darkseid that was not originally in his theatrical version. The evidenceis from AT&T teasing Darkseid is coming on their twitter account so there might be more Darkseid that originally to close out his Justice League.
I am just speculating that maybe a lot of the unfinished stuff from the Snyder Cut might be bring Darkseid to life. We will have to wait and see when the Snyder Cut is released some time next year. For those who don’t know the people who are working with Snyder to bring his cut to how it was presented originally through Warner Brothers are from the AT&T regime. The people who brought in Joss Whedon no longer work at Warner Brothers since the Justice League movie came out in theaters. The are history just like DC Entertainment.
What to expect from the Snyder’s Cut
Zack Snyder filmed his version for about a full year in 2016 after BVS came out until he step down because of a family tragedy in Spring of 2017. If you have been following all of this since 2017 we all know the version Warner Brothers old regime presented out was not the original version and that Snyder since 2018 has posted teases of his version on social media.
We know base on the image above the cut is 214 minutes long. That is closed to over 3 and half hours long. With the film going back into post production the timing could be 4 hours or maybe longer. Hollywood Reporter reported it is unclear if it will be a straight 4 hour cut or broken into chapters. What we do know is that Cyborg will have a bigger role like he meant to have originally. A lot of Ray Fisher’s scenes with Zack Snyder was cut out with Whedon’s version. That will be a huge differences when we see the original cut of Justice League. The next thing that will be different is the consistent continuity from the aftermath of Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice. All of the Superman footage film with Henry Cavill as Superman with Zack Snyder was before he filmed Mission Impossible. So there will be no CGI face like the theatrical cut presented.
We will see the Ben Affleck Batman who is reformed but not as jokey like he was in the final hour in Whedon’s version of Justice League. Do not expect to see that kind of Batman as Ben’s Batman hopefully will go out a lot better than the original theaters cut. I am hoping we get another great Batman fight scene like the warehouse scene in BvS so I expect Ben’s Batman to be portrayed a lot better in Snyder’s cut like Ben Affleck originally attended it to be since Snyder sold him on playing Batman in the first place.
We know William Dafoe’s Nuidia Vulko character from the Aquaman movie was supposed to originally make an appearances along with Kiresey Clemons as Iris west who shot scenes with Ezra Miller’s Flash. Expect those scenes to be in the Snyder cut. The biggest change will be how Superman is resurrected from BvS. Don’t expect to see what we seen in the theatrical cut. We know the Ryan Choi Atom will be in the movie since Zack Snyder teased it through social media. We might see a Martian Manhunter cameo appearance like we seen teases of from Snyder’s social media accounts. It was originally plan to feature Martian Manhunter to be in the Synder cut. We have seen Joe Manganiello who played Deathstroke in the ending credits in Justice League who teased something special with Batman on twitter in the Snyder cut of Justice League. I expect the film will end different compared to the theater cut with each character maybe teasing their next movie. We know Jason Momoa’s Aquaman was on his way to visit his dad at the end of Justice League so I expect something different for each characters ending of the movie.
I did enjoy Whedon’s Justice League film but I do want to see Snyder’s version because he put a lot of his life’s work in making Justice League. Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice has become a better movie over time. With Infinity saga from Marvel Studio wrapped up last year. Comic book fans and movie people who want to see something different with their comic book movies instead of the same Marvel Studios formula. This hints why the Joker movie made a billion dollars. I think 2021 is the right time since fans and movie audiences want to see something different with comic book movies. Lets cross our fingers this will be a success and maybe we might get Zack Snyder return to do a Man of Steel sequel with Henry Cavill as Superman.
While we all wait for the released of the Snyder cut’s Justice League sometime next year in 2021. Check out the only trailer of Snyder’s version of Justice League when the trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con n 2016.
