My Top 5 Favorite Movies of 2019

2019 was probably the best year for movies that I can remember. There was so many hit movies by critics and by audiences who connected with on so many levels. I’m not doing a top great movies of 2019, but as my personal top 5 favorite movies I have enjoyed in 2019. I haven’t seen Uncut Gems, 1917, or Parasite yet. In the future I plan to check them out once they are available to rent or when I have time to go to the movies, because it’s been a busy holiday season for me.

Before I get into my top 5 favorite movies of 2019. I want to recognize a lot of the movies that I really enjoyed but didn’t make my top 5 favorites for 2019. The short list is JoJo Rabbit, Long Shot, Light House, Hobbs and Shaw, US, A Marriage Story, Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Good Boys, Honey Boy, Rocketman, Hustlers, John Wick Chapter Three, Toy Story 4, Angels has Fallen, Little, Batman vs TMNT, Spider-Man Far From Home, Kings, Little Women, and Shazam! I highly recommend these movies if you’re looking for a good movie to watch.

5. John Wick Chapter Three

The John Wick series continues its success as chapter three is the best action movie of 2019 in my opinion. We see John Wick kill someone with book! I enjoyed Halle Berry as Sofia and her dogs who is a scene stealer in the film. This movie hits the right comedy notes and surprise twist at the end that will get audiences excited for chapter 4.

4. Dolomite is My Name

I am big fan of Eddie Murphy, and I was very happy to see him back in movies, especially with huge hit like Dolemite is My Name. This is base on a true story and a inspiration on Rudy Ray Moore who was told no about acting, music, comedy. He did it all anyways and was successful with it all and never gave up on his dreams. Eddie Murphy is fantastic as Rudy Ray Moore, and Wesley Snipes is hilarious in this movie. I highly recommend to watch it on Netflix.

3. Joker

I highly recommend to go see my review for Joker. I wasn’t thrilled Warner Brothers announced a stand alone Joker movie, but what Todd Phillips presents and Joaquin Phoenix performance as Joker will be talked about and studied for a long time.

2. Knives Out

Knives Out should be 2019’s best script of the year. If you love a good mystery story mixed with some hilarious comedy moments with and all star cast staring Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, and Chris Evans. With stand out actress Ana De Armas. This is a film that has a few surprising twist that audiences will not see coming and another twist that will surprisingly puts it all together. What makes Knives Out another great film of 2019 is that it is not a predictable movie. You will not guest what happens next with Knives Out.

Ana De Armas, and Daniel Craig are the two performances standouts from Knives Out. If you are looking for a good end of the year movie that’s currently playing in theaters Knives Out is a must see film for anyone who loves movies.

1. The Avengers End Game

Can’t express how much I love this movie. The Avengers End Game is everything I love about superheroes and the sacrifice they make and putting their own needs as side to save the people they care about. This movie carries a lot of emotions because of the conclusion to the past 21 movies. I don’t believe audiences will experience anything like this from a movie that was very emotional invested.
